Job Summary


The team member is expected to take a wider view of their job and its impact on the organization.  These Team members are responsible for the work center overall goals, organization, procedures, outcomes, attitude, education, expectations and work habits.  Each team member shall strive to achieve all of the levels within Job Level Matrix, which includes but are not limited to Set up and operate various thread rolling machines, and support chamfer and roll threads on parts and components according to specifications and router instructions:


Core Skills

  • Works as a team member in a cellular manufacturing environment that practices Lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Select jobs based on priority lists generated by computer and input from production control.
  • Uses traveler to punch in & out of both setup & production as stated in router instructions.
  • Performs the operation outlined in sequence number of the router instructions and records all pertinent inspection and record data on the router card.
  • Cross-trains with designated trainers to learn all machines within the Department.
  • Create machine setup cards by customer/part number recording pertinent machine setting and any special part / setup instructions.
  • Maintain die condition/use cards by thread size recording any pertinent die condition data and times used, number of PCs etc.
  • Selects, installs, and adjusts threading dies or grinding wheels, steady rests, chamfering tools, pressure tripping mechanism, cams, gears and pulleys, using screwdrivers and wrenches.
  • Lifts parts or stock manually or with hoist and positions and secures stock in thread roll machines.
  • Starts machines and actuates lever to alternately feed stock or parts through threading or grinding operation.
  • Verifies dimensions of work pieces with specifications, using single element gauges and ring gauges.
  • Radius thread roll dies & grinding wheel.
  • Communicates with co workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
  • Inspects and measures parts to maintain quality parts throughout production using sample plans.
