Job Summary



  • Verifies load against shipping papers. Counts parts and makes sure to delivery quantity stated on Purchase Order.
  • Drives truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area to obtain quickest routes.
  • Prepares Purchase Order Receipt per TA-204 on items picked up from vendors
  • Maintains truck mileage log according to state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains telephone contact with Expeditor to receive delivery instructions.
  • Loads and unloads truck. Secures all loads to truck bed so movement is not possible.
  • Forklift Certified
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Records all maintenance performed in truck maintenance log.
  • (May) Performs emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.

Physical Demands: The employee is required to:  stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. ‑     Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or ‑exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects


Hearing Ability: As needed to pass driver test.

Working Conditions: the employee is subject to:

‑Moderate noise levels from operating machines ‑physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. Will be subject to traffic and road condition hazards.

Position Specific Skills

Licenses Required: CA State drivers license Class C, without major traffic violations. DMV driving record report (H6) is required at interview.

Visual Acuity: Accommodation as required to pass driver test
